By using lifeonboard.io you agree to these terms. They are meant to be readable, so here they are in plain language.
Tile purchases are permanent and non-refundable. Being outbid (someone buying your tile at a higher price) is not a refund event; you can always buy a tile back at its then-current price. Every tile's exact price is shown before you pay.
Display names pass a moderation filter. We may remove or anonymize abusive names or colors at any time, at our discretion. Email hello@lifeonboard.io to request a takedown.
The board is a fixed grid of 4,500 tiles (90×50) and never grows: there is no expansion feature and no new tiles are ever added, by design. Any tile can be bought at its current price, and each time it is bought the next minimum price rises by 50% (at least $1). How the board fills is entirely up to buyers: it could be claimed quickly or change hands slowly over a long time.
Every tile keeps a public ownership history: the display name and the price paid for each purchase, including past owners who have since been outbid. Buying a tile does not erase that record; it adds your purchase to it. An outbid simply records the next owner on top of yours.
The service is provided as-is, with no uptime warranty. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the service or the names and colors you submit.
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and disputes are subject to the courts of Tokyo.
You must be at least 13 years old to browse. Purchases require the legal capacity to contract, or a guardian's consent.
We may update these terms; the date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
